Our Story
Pilates in the Park 501(c)(3) began as a grassroots offering to expand accessibility to high-quality health and wellness activities. The weekly class brings together like-minded individuals who value fitness, mindfulness, and wellbeing — all striving for positivity and communal strength.
Founder Khetanya Henderson, a lifelong mover and wellness advocate, envisioned a space where classical Pilates could meet the earth, where breath and body could reconnect, and where all individuals, regardless of financial means or physical restrictions, could participate. What started as a few mats on the grass quickly evolved into a weekly ritual for people seeking growth and connection.
Pilates in the Park invites people of all levels, bodies, ages, and backgrounds to experience classical mat Pilates in a setting that is free from mirrors, judgment, or walls. With the sun as the spotlight and the wind as the soundtrack, each class is an opportunity to root deeper into one’s body, mind, and soul.
It’s not just a class — it’s a movement. One that celebrates accessibility, equity, and the collective power of moving together. Whether you’re new to the mat or a longtime practitioner, Pilates in the Park welcomes you to your breath, your strength, and your KKRU.
